On Jan 26, 2009 the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched their new rule titled Import Security Filing (ISF), which is also commonly known as 10+2 or ISF10. This rule applies to import cargo arriving to the United States by vessel and the information is to be submitted to CBP no later than 24 hours prior to the cargo being loaded on to the vessel destined to the United States, including Puerto Rico.
This rule in now in full compliance and no further warnings will be issued by CBP. A penalty of $5,000 USD per violation for the submission of an inaccurate, incomplete or untimely filing will be assessed to the Importer of Record and Tropical Shipping, as the carrier.
As a result of the enforcement and the accountability for the timely submission placed on Tropical Shipping, we now require your ISF transaction # to be provided along with your documentation as per our established cut offs for paperwork. This requirement will go into effect with the sailing of the Asian Sun 0025 Sept 4, 2018.

By providing Tropical Shipping with the transaction #, this confirms you have filed the ISF and we will be able to load your shipment on the intended vessel. Should the transaction # not accompany your paperwork, the shipment will be rolled to sail on the next vessel.
