In order to offset increased costs associated with valued added tax (VAT) charges, Tropical Shipping must increase demurrage charges for equipment destined to Nassau, Bahamas, effective September 2, 2018, from all ports except Halifax, Canada.
For Refrigerated Equipment, the demurrage charges beyond the 5 day free time period, including weekends and holidays, will be:

The Genset Chassis charge is in addition to the Refrigerated Equipment Demurrage charge. The Genset Chassis charge does not apply if a dry chassis is used with the refrigerated equipment.
For General Dry Equipment, the demurrage charges beyond the 10 day free time period, including weekends and holidays, will be:

For all global cargo transported in Refrigerated or General Dry Equipment not owned or leased by Tropical Shipping, including full loads unstuffed at the Gladstone Freight Terminal the free time will be 20 days. Demurrage charges beyond the free time will be $40.00 per day. This is in addition to the regular demurrage charges for Refrigerated and General Dry Equipment described above.
