Tropical Shipping is committed to the Caribbean market and its changing needs. We have invested $150 million in six new vessels that are custom-built to better serve the region.
We are excited to welcome the remainder of the new vessels into service this year. The Tropic Island, the second of the four new 1100 teu ships, is currently enroute to the Port of Palm Beach. She, along with the Tropic Gem, are expected to begin service in February. The Tropic Jewel and the Tropic Lissette are will be arriving this summer.
The vessels are faster, bigger, safer and eco-friendly for improved service. The four Carib Class ships are similar to our Tropic Carib and Tropic Unity while the two Mini Express Class vessels are similar to the Tropic Express. All of the vessels include the latest technology and equipment, making them safer and more reliable.

500 New Refrigerated Containers
Refrigerated cargo requires special handling to guarantee that it arrives at its destination in optimum condition. Tropical Shipping uses computerized refrigeration equipment with efficient cargo movement systems to control the condition of chilled and frozen products. We have teams of dependable and highly trained shore-side and shipboard refrigeration technicians who monitor your cargo during transit. Earlier this year we expanded our equipment fleet with 500 new reefer containers, 100 - 20 foot, and 400 - 40 foot.
