Tropical Shipping COVID-19 Update 2

Tropical Shipping COVID-19

Bahamas & Caribbean Regional Update

March 16, 2020

We want to provide an update on Tropical Shipping continued operations and our focus to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain to the communities that rely on the services our companies provide.

In order to ensure we are properly prepared to respond, we are closely tracking updates provided by federal authorities, as well as public health organizations, to obtain timely and accurate information, and working with Tropical Shipping operating companies to expand our Business Continuity Plans should we need to modify our operating practices.

Please be assured that our companies are taking proper health and safety precautions to protect one another, crews aboard our 17 vessels, trucks, cargo handling, and back-office teams to ensure the continued reliability of the supply chain.

  • All operations are currently running normally and on schedule. In fact, our companies are doubling down efforts to maintain continuity of service in the Bahamas & Caribbean.
  • We are closely engaged with federal, state and local authorities regarding COVID-19 to ensure the protection of our workforce.
  • We continue to monitor the situation for any additional requirements or changes in the market.

We understand our responsibility to provide critical services to The Bahamas & Caribbean and want to be a resource to you as you consider policy decisions that may impact the supply chain. Any proposed policy changes should be carefully evaluated, considering special precautions we have already put in place to mitigate potential threats.

Thank you for all you do to serve the people of The Bahamas & Caribbean, it is important we come together to share information and prepare for anything that could impact our ability to serve our business partners and families of The Bahamas & Caribbean.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
