USDA Wood Compliance Rule for US Imports

Regulatory requirements are that cargo imported into the United States comply with the USDA Wood Packaging Material rule.  Please note that, all cargo imported to the United States is subject to inspection by a U.S. Customs officer.  The inspection includes the verification of the wood packaging used and determination of compliance with the mandated requirements.  Importantly, pallets must have the stamp indicating heat treatment or fumigation used, with the exception to this being pallets imported from the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Cargo determined not to be in compliance by a U.S. customs officer is subject to re-export.
