Reminder: Established Cargo Cut-Offs for Wednesday’s Sailing of the Carib Class Vessels

The International Maritime Organization has issued new carbon emission regulations.

Tropical Shipping’s Carib Class vessels servicing St. Thomas, St. John (USVI), St. Eustatius, Nevis, Tortola, Virgin Gorda, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Vincent, and Dominica, must burn less fuel and emit less carbon to be in compliance.  To do so the vessels must be slowed down.

To ensure our customers continue to have on time arrivals, the vessel must depart the Port of Palm Beach earlier.

Please note the following established cut-offs for cargo and documentation:

  • Beginning June 5, 2024, the sailing will depart the Port of Palm Beach at 4:00 pm each Wednesday.

Cargo Cut-Offs for Wednesday’s sailing of the Carib Class vessels will remain as follows:

  1. Dry, Flatrack and Frozen cargo must be received in the Port by 10:00 pm on Tuesday.
  2. Chilled cargo must be received in the Port by 10:00 am on Wednesday.
  3. Hazardous FCL cargo must be received in the Port by 4:00 pm on Tuesday.
  4. LCL cargo cutoff will remain 12:00 noon on Tuesday for all ports.
  5. Hazardous LCL cargo cutoff will remain 12:00 noon on Monday.

To ensure On Time Departures, FCL Documentation Cut-Offs have been changed and will be earlier for the Wednesday sailings of the Carib Class vessels, dependent on whether Tropical or Customer prepares their EEI as follows:

  1. Tropical Prepared EEI:  10:00am Tuesday
  2. Customer Prepared EEI:  8:00am Wednesday
